According to KWQC, at least three people were injured due to a two vehicle accident on Sunday, December 24th. The accident occurred in Warren County west of 15th Street on US Route 34.
As the Illinois State Police recounts, Yvonne T. Villarreal, a Knoxville resident, 44, was proceeding eastbound on US Route 34 when the accident occurred.
At the same time Villarreal was heading east, another vehicle going in the opposite direction veered across the center line, hitting Villarreal head-on.
The vehicle which crossed the center line had a driver and a young passenger, both unidentified. The two were taken to Great River Medical Center and then University of Iowa Hospitals.
Villarreal was received by Monmouth’s OSF in Monmouth, and later OSF in Peoria.
The driver of the offending vehicle was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
We at Illinois Accident Report commiserate with the friends and family of the victims. By writing these posts, we at Illinois Accident Report wish to raise safety awareness and provide the community with accident data. We also wish to inform and educate friends and family of an accident victim that a bodily injury claim may exist given the right grounds. Generally, there is reason to pursue a claim if the party causing the injury was negligent.
When claiming compensation against the party at fault for bodily injury, you may be entitled to a range of things. They could include compensation for medical expenses, lost earnings (which could include future earnings), loss of support and consortium, emotional and psychological pain and suffering and other non-economic losses.
