The Bureau County Republican (BCRNews) is reporting that a semi crossed the median on Interstate 80 outside of Princeton, killing the driver of a gold colored SUV coming in the opposite direction.
The Illinois State Police relate that Ontario resident Tariq Khan, 44, was driving a red Volvo truck-tractor westbound on Interstate 80 at approximately 9:16 AM on Wednesday. For reasons not yet known, Khan’s trucked went over the median, striking a gold colored SUV going eastbound. This happened at Mile Post 65.
Khan was sent to St. Margaret’s Hospital for observation. The SUV driver was declared deceased at the scene.
The ISP say citations are pending.
