According to KWQC, Steven Moreno, 62, of Dixon, suffered incapacitating injuries when his vehicle was struck by a car driven by Susan Emmole, 48, also of Dixon.
Authorities with the Illinois State Police report that Emmole was traveling at a high rate of speed on Illinois Route 2 in the eastbound direction at about 11:30 AM this morning. She was just east of Plock Road in Dixon.
Driving a Nissan, Emmole’s vehicle came up on Moreno’s car which was a Mini Cooper station wagon. Emmole crashed into the back of the the wagon, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway and roll multiple times.
Both drivers required transport to local hospitals.
Emmole was charged with DUI, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, illegally transporting alcohol, and for not wearing a seatbelt. The ISP say more charges are possible.
