Galesburg.com reports that Lomax resident Stephen Painter, 66, was injured in a car crash at the intersection of County Road 1110E and County Road 400N.
The accident occurred around 8:30 Friday morning.
The Illinois State Police are quoted as saying that Painter’s truck was hit head-on by a vehicle driven by Dianne Kircher, 61, of Stronghurst. She had gone from the northbound to the southbound lane, hitting Painter in the process.
The ISP says Kircher was driving while fatigued and was cited for wrong-way driving.
Painter and Kircher were both taken to Great River Medical Center for their injuries. A child in Painter’s truck was also taken there out of an abundance of caution.
