According to the Herald&Review, Taylorville resident Samuel Walton 36, was involved in a Thursday afternoon accident on Illinois 48 north of Stonington. The accident involved three vehicles.
As authorities relate, Brenda J. Graham, a 57 year old Stonington resident, had slowed down the minivan she was driving near Illinois 48 and Christian County Road 1900E. At this point, a vehicle following her, driven by Walton, also slowed down. A truck and trailer rig, described ultimately as a truck/grain trailer, was unable to slow down in time to avoid hitting Walton’s vehicle. The resulting crash pushed Walton’s vehicle into Graham’s minivan.
Walton was transported to a local hospital for non life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck, David Trail, a 74 year old Lincoln resident, was cited for following too closely.
