KFVS is reporting on a three vehicle accident that happened Wednesday morning in St. Johns in Perry County. The time was approximately 7:30 AM and the location was on US-51 at West 6th Street in St. Johns.
The Sheriff’s Office with Perry County stated that Tamaroa resident Lacey A. Jones, was driving on US-51 when she hit a car from behind that was making a left hand turn in front of her. Robert J. Stroud, 40, was the driver of the struck vehicle. His passenger was Jennifer L. Stroud, 35. Both Strouds hail from Du Quoin, and both were said to have been injured and subsequently received by a local hospital.
Jones and her two passengers, both youths, were not injured in the wreck. A Harley Davidson motorcycle was also part of the accident scene. The motorcycle received major damage but the news article does not disclose the driver’s name or whether they suffered any injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office says Jones was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
