According to, a woman from Rantoul died and her three children were hurt when a pickup collided with the woman’s vehicle.

The accident happened alongside US 45 south of Leverett Road at approximately 6:00 AM on Thursday.

The Illinois State Police said the dead woman was Shana Outlaw, 23, of Leverett. At the time she was on foot near the vehicle in the right hand lane of US 40, apparently tending to a mechanical problem.

She was received by Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana where she died from her wounds.
