Pedestrian Leroy Torrence Killed by DUI Charged Driver on South Ashland in Chicago

The Chicago Sun Times is reporting on news released by the Chicago Police department. Authorities tell the Sun Times that Deshonnette A. Morrison, 21, of the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, struck and killed pedestrian Leroy Torrence, 63, while she was driving Saturday night in the 7100 block of South Ashland.

Torrence, of the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, was received by Oak Lawn’s Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 12:22 Sunday morning.

Police are charging Morrison with one felony count of aggravated DUI in a crash in an accident causing death.
