BND.com is reporting that Pauline McKinney has succumbed to injuries she suffered in a multi-vehicle car and truck crash Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred near Exit 23 on I-55, at the point where I-143 goes over the highway. The location is near Edwardsville.
McKinney’s vehicle was the fifth vehicle hit in a massive chain reaction crash that injured ten people, two of whom still remain hospitalized.
The accident is being attributed at this time to a 53 year old semi-truck driver, Mohamed Yussuf Jama, of Greeley, Colorado. He said he looked down to pick up a drink, taking his eyes of the road, the inattention leading to him crashing into the traffic ahead of him.
The accident investigation is continuing.
