Patch.com is reporting form Downers Grove that thirty year old Onecimo Vazquez-Valazquez of Westmont has been charged with aggravated DUI causing death, as well as leaving the scene of an accident. The crash near the intersection of Fairview and 55th left his passenger dead. Her name was Annajeane Dewey. The accident happened early Saturday morning.
Authorities with the police department stated that Vazquez-Valazquez was proceeding northbound on Fairview at a “high rate of speed” when he attempted to pass a car and subsequently failed to keep on the roadway. When he went off the paved surface his vehicle collided with a tree, causing the car to come apart in two, killing Dewey immediately.
It is reported that Vazquez-Valazquez left the scene of the accident and returned thereafter. According to the police department, Vazquez-Valazquez had a BAC of .077 more than an hour after the accident.
Vazquez-Valazquez is under arrest at the DuPage County Jail and being held on a $500,000 bond. He is set to appear in court on Nov. 5.
