According to Galesburg.com, one man was killed early Thursday morning in an automobile versus train collision outside of Macomb.
Illinois State Police troopers report the accident occurred on a private drive which crossed railroad tracks about three miles west of U.S. 136 near Macomb. The time was approximately 1:03 AM.
One passenger on the Amtrak train needed transporting to a local hospital. Their injury is not considered to be life-threatening.
The driver of the car has been confirmed as deceased. His identity has not yet been made public. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
