WJBDRadio is reporting that Nichol Carter, 46, of Salem, was injured Monday night when the vehicle she was in was hit by a pickup that failed to stop at a stop sign.
The Illinois State Police say that Stacey Malawy, 31, of Nashville, did not stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Washington County Highway 23 and US 51. As a result, the pickup she was driving collided with Nichol Carter’s vehicle.
Carter was received by St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for her injuries. The other party did not suffer any injuries.
Malawy was cited for failing to yield at stop sign or yield intersection.
