WCIA reports from Sigel, Illinois that Mary Overbeck, 76, of Tuetopolis, died in a car crash when another vehicle failed to yield to hers.
In an extremely brief article, WCIA quotes the Illinois State Police as saying Tammy Thomas, 49, of Farina, was proceeding eastbound on Route 45 in Shelby County. At some point she failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
As a result of this failure to yield, the vehicle Thomas was driving struck the vehicle Overbeck was in.
The news outlet quotes the Champaign county coroner as saying that Overbeck died because of the injuries suffered in the wreck.
Thomas was cited by the ISP for failing to yield. That police force is still investigating the crash.
