The Sun-Times Media Wire is reporting that one person is dead and another six are hurt in an accident involving a CTA bus.
The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1:40 PM in the 5100 block of South Western Avenue. This is in the Gage Park neighborhood.
A car collided with the bus, the male car driver being 50 year old Marshall Lee. He was a resident of the West Side Austin neighborhood. He was received by Mount Sinai Hospital where he later passed away.
The injured, including the bus driver, were taken to either Holy Cross or the University of Chicago Medical Center.
The identities and conditions of those hurt were not released by police at the time the news article was written. They did say, however, that their conditions were “stabilized”.
The CTA was awaiting information from the police department before commenting.
