KWQC.com is reporting from Strong Hurst that a total of three people were injured after one vehicle was rear-ended by another on 750 North in Henderson County on Saturday afternoon.
The Illinois State Police say Markita Currie, a twenty-six year old New London, Iowa resident, had stopped on 750 North in a Jaguar to wait to turn into a driveway. At that point her vehicle was struck from behind by a Chevy Blazer, which was being operated by Lomax resident, eighteen year old Mason Butler.
Currie was received by a hospital along with a passenger in her vehicle, thirty-three year old Tyler Crawford of Burlington, Iowa. Their injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening. Butler was not hurt in the accident but a passenger in his vehicle was. That passenger was taken to the hospital.
Butler was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
