Keith Hancock Injured in Three Vehicle Car Crash on US Highway 51 at Fayette County Road 1200N

According to the The Effingham Daily News, two people were injured Sunday evening in a three vehicle crash on US Highway 51 at Fayette County Road 1200N.

The Illinois State Police reported that the accident occurred at 9:54 PM. They state that Vandalia resident Rylee Wollerman, 19, driving a Chevrolet Malibu, failed to stop in time to avoid hitting a Dodge Durango driven by Oconee resident Keith Hancock, 62. At the time, Hancock was slowing for traffic ahead of him.

The resulting crash caused these two vehicles to hit a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Vandalia resident Janet Manley, 65. Her vehicle was in the opposite lane.

Wollerman was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Wollerman and Hancock were received by Fayette County Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. There was no word as to whether Manley was injured.

The accident investigation may be continuing.
