The Journal Star is reporting from Edelstein that Kathleen Schroeder, 28, of Peoria, died this weekend as the result of a car on Saturday colliding with a semi-truck. Details are few at this time.
In quoting from a Peoria County Coroner press release, the Journal Star says the accident occurred where State Route 40 and West Truitt Road intersect in Northern Peoria County. The time was approximately 5:00 PM.
Emergency services and first responders found Schroeder in the wreckage in critical condition. Two other injured people were at the accident and subsequently received by local hospitals. Their identities and conditions were not disclosed at the time the Journal Star’s report went to press.
Schroeder was received by OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center after being taken there by air. She was declared deceased at that hospital at 12:55 AM on Sunday.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this accident.
