According to WGLT.org, the woman who died in a head on crash with a semi-truck on Friday evening has been identified.
McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis says the deceased is a woman from Chenoa, Kaitlyn Erdman, 25. She was driving the passenger vehicle.
The accident occurred in the southbound lane of I-55 outside of Lexington, near Mile Marker 177. The time was approximately 6:30 PM. It is not known what caused the two vehicles to collide.
A press release from the Coroner states that Erdman had an infant daughter in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The young child was received by a local hospital and later released.
The semi-truck driver has not been identified to the press.
The accident investigation continues to be worked by both the Coroner’s office and Illinois State Police.
