The Effingham Daily News is reporting on a two vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 40 and Illinois Route 128 on Monday afternoon in Effingham County. The time was approximately 2:45 PM.
According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, a pickup pulled away too early from a stop sign, causing that vehicle to collide with another.
The driver of the pickup was eighteen year old Tristan R. Putt, a resident of Pana. When stopped at the intersection, he went ahead of a sedan driven by sixty-five year old Judy A. Kingston, of St. Elmo.
Kingston couldn’t avoid the coming accident and collided with Putt’s vehicle on his driver’s side.
Kingston was received by HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Putt was cited for failing to yield and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
