WSPDLocal6.com is reporting that three men were seriously injured in a two vehicle crash that happened earlier this morning.
The accident was on Illinois Route 148 at Park Street Road in Franklin County in southern Illinois.
Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are quoted as saying that the accident happened at approximately 7:00 AM.
When deputies arrived, they found two vehicles involved. One of these, a pickup truck, had been driven by Ohatchee, Alabama resident John McCrelles, 51. Deputies say McRelles failed to obey the stop sign at the intersection and subsequently collided with another pickup. That vehicle was driven by Jonathan Hood, 22, of Tamora.
Hurt in the collision were McCrelles and his passenger, 29-year-old Jeffrey Boatwright of Wellington, Alabama. Both suffered severe injuries and were received by a local hospital.
Hood, too, suffered major injuries. He was airlifted to an out-of-state hospital.
Authorities say the crash is still being investigated and that citations are pending.
