According to FoxIllinois.com and the Illinois State Police, Jeremy Voris was killed on August 17th as the result of his vehicle being rammed from behind.
The accident happened approximately one quarter of a mile west of Shelby County Road 1400 East on Route 16 in Shelby County. The time was 5:00 PM.
The ISP say a Chevrolet Silverado and a Ford F-150 were both proceeding westbound when the Silverado attempted to pass another vehicle traveling in the eastbound lane. When the Silverado could not overtake the vehicle, the Silverado moved back into the westbound lane. At this point the Ford F-150, driving behind the Silverado, failed to stop in time to prevent hitting the vehicle ahead of him.
The Silverado rolled several times before coming to final rest. Dead inside the Silverado was a passenger, Jeremy Voris, a 44 year old Windsor resident.
The Ford F-150 driver was Tower Hill resident, Kelli Moon, 37. He was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
It is unknown if the driver of the Silverado, Joshua Loy, 28, of Effingham was injured.
The ISP issued a citation to the driver of the Ford F-150 for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
It is presumed that an accident investigation is still ongoing.
