Jack Burris Identified as Victim of Car Crash with Chicago Police Department Vehicle

ABC7Chicago reports that the 66-year-old man who died Monday evening when his car crashed into a police vehicle has been identified. He is Jack Burris of the 8500 block of South Wabash Avenue.

Police were responding to reports of a shooting. Their SUV was carrying tactical officers. One witness said that police went through a stop sign at 80 miles an hour, however, the CPD states their vehicle was displaying lights and sirens at the time of the crash.

The accident occurred in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood at around 10:40 PM.

The police officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident is still under investigation, with The Independent Police Review Authority also involved.
