WCIA is reporting that Heather Roberts, age and residency undisclosed, died Friday afternoon when an alleged drunk driver slammed his vehicle into her car.
Authorities say the accident occurred on North Bowman Avenue on the outskirts of Danville.
Police say David Winkler, Jr., told them that he had been drinking before driving. At first he said that he had three to four beers, and then he changed that story to say he had to three to four whiskeys.
WCIA say witnesses reported that Winkler veered into Robert’s lane, killing her. The condition of Winkler was not stated.
He is being charged with causing a fatal accident due to DUI. He is currently in custody pending bail which was set at $750,000.
