NBCChicago.com and other media outlets are reporting that four people died and four others were wounded early Sunday morning in a car versus CTA bus collision on Chicago’s West Side.
The so called “pin-in crash” with the Chicago Transit Authority bus happened at approximately 5:55 AM in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood, in the 2600 block of West Madison Street. At the intersection of Madison and Talman Avenue.
Initial reports are that two people were received by Mount Sinai Hospital and two others to Stroger Hospital. The Chicago Fire Department said these people were all in critical condition.
Another accident victim was taken in fair condition to Rush University Medical Center, while three others were taken to St. Mary’s.
At the scene, four people were pronounced dead, authorities said.
No other details are forthcoming at this time. The accident investigation remains open.
