According to the Daily-Chronicle.com, Ernesto Alvarez-Rodriguez, a 23 year old resident of DeKalb, was injured Thursday evening in a car crash involving an alleged drunken driver.
Authorities say Marelyn Cossyleon, 24, of Sycamore, went over the center line of Glidden Road south of Baseline Road around 8:00 PM Thursday. When she did so, she hit a vehicle coming the other way, that car being one driven by Ernesto Alvarez-Rodriguez.
Police say Rodriguez tried to avoid the crash but could not. He was received by St. Anthony’s Hospital where his condition was last listed as serious.
Police investigators have determined that Cossyleon was inebriated at the time of the accident and they have charged her with DUI and improper lane use.
