KendallCountyNow is reporting that a Yorkville man is in custody after a four vehicle wreck that happened on Route 34 at Diehl Farm Road in Yorkville on Friday evening. The time was approximately 9:00 PM. Police have charged that man with multiple counts including DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Authorities state that a head-on crash occurred as the result of a vehicle proceeding east on Route 34 slamming into a vehicle driven in the opposite direction. The driver of the allegedly negligent vehicle was 49 year old resident of Bell Street in Yorkville, Michael Matthews. The driver who was hit was 24 year old Dylan A. Wesolowski, 24, of Somonauk.
Matthews fled after the accident, hitting two more vehicles in the process. It is unknown if he was injured in the accident. Wesolowski, however, was injured in the accident and received by Aurora’s Rush Copley Medical Center.
Police say Matthews faces charges of DUI, improperly using a lane, no insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to give aid.
It is presumed that the accident investigation continues.
