The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting on the death of a man who was run over in a junkyard in south suburban Chicago Heights. His name was Arlen J. Bradley, 18, of Cedar Lake Indiana.
Although information is still being sought by authorities, the man apparently died after being crushed by a bus he was working on Friday afternoon.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident at 2:17 PM. They responded to Wilkins Rebuilders Supply, located at 171 East 12th St.
What they discovered upon arrival was that an employee driving a front end loader put a bus in motion without understanding that Bradley was beneath the vehicle, working on it. Moving the front end loader caused the rear wheels to crush Bradley.
Bradley was received by Franciscan Health Chicago Heights, where he was declared deceased at 2:47 PM on Friday afternoon.
Police reported the incident to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
