The Chicago Sun Times is reporting on the death of Amit Kumar Ghosh, killed when a semi-truck failed to slow in time to avoid hitting him.
The accident happened last Friday morning and Ghosh is said to have died a day after he was hurt. Five vehicles in total were involved in the wreck.
Known more popularly as the Tri-State Tollway, the accident happened in the southbound direction on I-294 near mile marker 32. That’s north of Electric Avenue in outer Berkeley.
Authorities say Ghosh, age 66, was proceeding south on Interstate 294 at approximately 7:45 AM on Friday morning. A semi-truck failed to reduce speed in time to avoid the vehicle of Ghosh, rear ending his vehicle. The ISP and the the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office continue to investigate the crash.
