Authorities report that a 77 year old man was killed as the result of a three car accident near Grayslake. The accident happened around 2:50 p.m Wednesday at the intersection of Peterson Road and Behm Lane.
The account of the preliminary investigation states that a Chrysler Minivan driven by a 74 year old woman resident of Grayslake was proceeding eastbound on Peterson Road when it tried to turn left on Behm Lane. At this point it was hit by a westbound vehicle, a GMC Sierra, driven by a 45 year old Wauconda resident.
A Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant reports that a 77 year old man, a Grayslake resident and passenger in the minivan, was killed when the two vehicles collided. The accident continued when a Honda Civic driven by a 85 year old woman was struck as a result of the original collision.
The woman driving the minivan was rushed to Advocate Condell Medical Center with critical injuries. The driver of the GMC had minor injuries. The woman driving the Honda Civic was released from the accident scene without needing further medical attention. The accident investigation continues.
